My activities for the month of stardate 20121 are/is

Cold front came through. Got an older goat that keeps falling over. And I can't go outside so I just get to sit here and slowly watch her freeze to death

You don't know what you wife is for. Back in the day, it was the females that looked out for the goats.

Kinda getting sorer it seems. Not sure if normal, or from sex with wife, or from some extra hard sneezes, or getting up and down from the couch, or all the above. But basically stuck on the couch only now

Laid on the couch all day. Put on the 1989 version of "Pet Semetery" but killed it after an hour of both the kids and wife telling to change it

Yea, it is a computer controlled 'on demand' defrost. But from the factory it was full of bugs. It would run a defrost every 30 minutes of accumulated runtime. Which is super annoying. All the techs that I had come out to look at it just shrug and told me 'the computer knows best'. While unemployed back in 2021, I desoldered the 16 bit microcontroller and dumped the code and then reverse engineered it. After two months and nearly 200 hours, I had it working right. There was some initial calibration routines that run after the board is powered up, once I bypassed those with some hard coded values, it has been working fine since.
In the 60+ hours of runtime in the last 7 days, it only ran a defrost 3 times and that was last night because we had freezing rain.

On another note, right now sitting in my office chair for the first time in 7 days. Mostly alright so far.
