Screwing with more fence for yesterday and today. And probably tomorrow
What went wrong with the interview? Or was the whole thing just retarded?Lunar Aura wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 6:18 am had my first interview in 20 months
some black chick who looked high as a kite, for a company that provides a hardware service that would be better served as a phone app
they passed on me and decided to pursue other candidates.i probably dodged a bullet
You will never know and you should never care. Could be anything like she didn't like your clothes.Lunar Aura wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 2:34 pm it seemed to have gone well but i can never know the real reason why they didn't pick me.
if i had to guess it was because i am asia and she is black. traditionally, the orient never really liked the dark much and visa versace
Between 2020 and 2023, I interviewed at 60 different companies before I got my last job. In hindsight, and from looking at their linkedin pages, most of those companies didn't hire anyone at all. Apparently HR people like to always have some amount of job postings to churn through just so they look busy. And on the company wide level, executives like to show venture capitalists that they are "hiring" because it makes it look like they are growing and an investment would be profitable to a potential VC. So being interviewed can easily just mean you are going into a black hole.Lunar Aura wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 2:34 pm it seemed to have gone well but i can never know the real reason why they didn't pick me.

You learn Javascript in a week so, just start with React or something. However, companies want work experience so it's a catch 22 situation. Same with Python, one week.Smucky wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 5:23 pmBetween 2020 and 2023, I interviewed at 60 different companies before I got my last job. Also, all of the "new technology" seems to be inundated/commoditized with cheap labor from overseas or young americans since many high schoolers know python/javascript,etc now. That was part of my problem with the 60 companies I listed above, they were all hiring for the latest and greatest frameworks/programming languages.
I've come to grips now that any technology after 2010 is simply too "new" for me. All of the last good jobs I've had in the last 10 years I got by just typing in "perl" on job search engines. A tech seemingly dead, but trying to get into any newer python/javascript shop is just an insane amount of competition.
