I saw the short version yesterday and thought it was kind of messed up. This long version makes it conflicting though.
Lady calls the cops for them to check her yard.

reminds me of my friend's mom that used to chow down a ton of xanax and soma pills. She could still walk around and talk, but nothing made sense. She'd start doing random house chores but at 3am, vacuuming, stuffing random clean and dirty clothes all around the house in the wrong places, etc. One time she cooked up a one inch thick pancake in a 12" pan, covered it shredded cheese, took one bite then passed out on the couch.

But as far as a random black lady being a pill head, I don't know. The trashed house, incoherence, she probably was just legit crazy.
I believe if this were me, I'd be pretty spooked dealing with her, but I could see myself just making a couple of hops towards the door instead of blasting her.

I don't understand why the cop followed her into the house, doesn't make any sense. They could just have left as they couldn't find anybody lurking around.

Actually, thinking this out further, I can't think of any good ending.
So lets say he didn't pull the trigger, and she just says "sorry" and sets the pan down. Then what? Would she just go back to sitting on the couch digging through her bag looking for her "paperwork"? I'd assume the next step from that would be call in backup and call in EMS to have her evaluated. But I don't think that would go too smoothly either.
Perhaps they could have just left, but with their luck she probably was in the middle of a pill overdose or having a stroke then she's dead the next day and the head lines would read "Racist cops leave clearly distraught black woman to die alone".

To think making a welfare call for an old woman is actually an advanced game of chess. All this for what, $50k a year?
